Being a mom....

I love being a Mom!!


Today Kaden comes in the bathroom and says "mom can I have some hairspray so I can look handsome for preschool!" (little does he know he doesnt need that to make him handsome:)



Mother, oh Mother, come shake out your cloth
empty the dustpan, poison the moth,
hang out the washing and butter the bread,
sew on a button and make up a bed.

Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.
Oh, I've grown shiftless as Little Boy Blue

Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
(pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo).

The shopping's not done and there's nothing for stew
and out in the yard there's a hullabaloo
but I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo.
Look! Aren't her eyes the most wonderful hue?

The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow,
for children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.


This is from my new favorite book, "I am a mother". I could read it once a month or more. If you havent, you need to. I promise you will not put it down and when you do you will be thankful. It reminds me to enjoy my little ones every second. I have a little bit of compulsive cleaner in me and when I read this, I realize so much. stop and enjoy. This book has taught me so much!

Its a Miracle!!

Kaden loves his baby sister! Its only taken 5 months. he has pretty much ignored her this whole time. It all started 3 days ago. He walked over to her and gave her a kiss on her cheek. for NO reason. the next night he goes up to her and says "goodnight Kylee, I love you." we just sat there amazed. I almost cried. then he took that bath last night and played with her a little.
then today she was sad so he went over and started talking to her and giving her toys. later we were on the way to Costco and she started to cry, he hands her his toy he had brought for himself. I almost died of shock.

Then this picture is just barely. were all sitting around and he asks me, can I hold Kylee? Im all "nick grab my camera"
words cant say how excited I am. All I have wanted was for him to love her!!

Im addicted.....

Yep, I am like every other Mother, addicted to my kids and addicted to my camera. Its just too bad I dont have my Moms sweet camera, I would be even worse.

I woke up the other day and thought, I am going to take pictures of Kaden every time he makes me smile, laugh or giggle, no matter what he is doing because if your in good spirits, everything he does is funny. lets just say 200 pictures later... I had to sum it up in a few.

Here it goes.

We get done with breakfast and he has worked hard on a project.... he is like, "mom come here" it took serious thought on his part which parts to put on which potato head. here comes the funny part.



he says "mom that one is Daddy, that one is Grandpa, then Cowboy,(my moms neighbor, then Grandma, that one is me" lets just say he then explained why.


then bathtime. lets just say there were bubbles EVERYWHERE and not just the tub. had him giggling pretty hard while throwing bubbles at, yes, me.

one of his new favor things to do now is "go fishing" in Kylees humidifier. yes it has a aquarium front with fake fish. he will sit there for an hour with a spoon and catch them over and over.


this picture isnt funny. but now that its over what happened kinda was. the new park opened and boy we were there for it, along with 100 others. Kaden starts crying so hard every mom is running to see if its theirs. It was mine. Dont ask me how. he was an insect caught in a web. the "spider web" on the playground he had got one arm stuck under one rope, another under another, his neck and head under another, and both feet wedged in another. Poor guy has rope burn on his face, must have fallen under one and tried to get up through another hole... he was STUCK!! it actually took a minute to get him out. He looks so cute though. sad but cute.

yes. we like baths at our house. another later that night, except all 3 of us. Kaden and Kylee are actually having fun together. He sits and pours water in her fingers and toes. she loves it. they are so cute!!

just a tuesday....

Its Tuesday again, my free night to write a bunch.I havent for weeks so a lot has happened. nothing too important, just fun. We went to the PArade of Homes with my family who stayed over Presidents day, we went four wheeling on my Moms new one, and I got to ride my old YZ80! yeah, miss it! just playing, and doing the "mom things"! as you can see, Kylee is trying to sit up, falls over after about 3 seconds. Crazy I got this shot!



Rosco actually likes her!! he is cute with her most the time, when shes not grabbing and trying to eat his ear:)


I wish I could put sound on here of her giggling, the cutest thing ever and makes my day worth living! I love it!


Our new routine is feeding the ducks. Kaden loves it, as long as they dont get too close!!he asks to go like every other day!



My Limo... is what Nicks calls my new stroller. It is rather long, but AWESOME!! As you can see Kylee now thinks shes a "big girl" and has to sit up! She is in heaven though, its so cute!

and this is why we live here. It is BEAUTIFUL!! The sun is always shining, the grass is always green,(and visible) the sky is always blue, we have a gorgeous view, and a brand new park about 30 seconds from our house that is about to open in 3 DAYS!!! Kaden is soo excited we have to walk to it everyday and see if its opened yet! It is a splash park, playground, tennis, basketball, covered pavilions and all. top of the line too! I bet we will live there all day every day!

A Wonderful, Eventful Week!

Yep, there is snow here!! This picture is the mountain we look at from our house!
We were at friends for a Super Bowl "get together" I rather call it than a party, and we walked out and there was about 4 inches of snow and still falling. This was in Hurricane. We drove home on wet snowy, slippery roads, wondering where we were and if snow plows actually were available in southern Utah :)
It is beautiful here though and such a Fun Change!!

We got to drive up North Friday and come back Saturday, trying to hit the good weather. But it was worth it. One of my best friends now for almost 10 years got married! It was the same time as Hinckleys Funeral, and Salt Lake was so quiet, somber and peaceful. We couldnt believe the feeling there. It was a very spiritual day.

Thankyou Sarah and Craig for letting us be part of such a beautiful and special event in your lives. It was such a Beautiful Day! Everything was. The weather, sky, the Ceremony, the flowers, her cute shoes:) her beautiful dress, and especially just her!! She looked gorgeous as always, and they are the perfect couple! Congratulations you two, we love you!

Me and Amber took the kids to the Museum of Animals. they loved it, as you can see. For some reason Kaden wouldnt believe they were all pretend so he wouldnt get out of the stroller!! Its not like we havent been there before! It was fun.

January 2008

I had to show this picture of Kylee in her first really cute dress. Thanks to Gayle who gave it to her for Christmas, she looked so adorable. Me and my mom were thinking that she didnt have a whole lot of cute clothes right now, cuz shes in that awkward stage, too big for 3-6 month and too little for 6-9. But this dress is 6 months and I am so glad I tried it on this morning before church because she looks so adorable and she keeps growing too fast!

She was giggling so hard after church. Love this age!!

My Mom was having grandchildren withdrawals, and talked my Dad and brother into coming this weekend since she cant come alone yet. We had a short, but great time.
Good food, movies, relaxing, talking, a little shopping (my mom cant stop buying Kylee clothes:)The best part was when we took Kaden to Fiesta fun after dinner, and My brother Casey and I were playing a game with our last couple tokens. He puts it in, hits the button it drops automatically into the Jackpot hole without even bouncing, and he wins like 750 tickets. Lets just say Kaden went home with a handful of Stuff!!Fun times!! Thanks for coming to see us!!




Yes... this is Kaden wearing green sweats, a blue jacket and a red cowboy hat. Thought I would never go in public with a kid dressed like this, but like my Mom said, cant say never until you have children. Well, Kaden wouldn't stop wearing that hat all day long. I didnt want to put up a fuss when I had to run to the store, and Nick told him he looked cute, so that says it all.

Ok. . .I gave in. . . .

I just gave into the digital Scrapbooking experience. Im such a hands on kind of crafty person, I love to cut with scissors and tape flowers on paper. Lets just say me and my cousin use to spend hours and hours cutting out little things and making paper everything and have little crafty stores where we would pretend to sell all sorts of items. anyways, I love to scrapbook!! then, everything started going digital. Well, I said I would never give in, and Im not completely. But it is so hard to get out all the scrapbooking stuff, all the time, have it laying all over so your kids get into it and mess everything up. Then you have to put it away. AND you spend lots of money! (buts its sooo fun:)
Well, this is easier, not as fun, but now you can have your online scrapbooks professionally Printed!! What is this world coming to. So I have to say, this made no mess, Kylee is sitting in her bouncer chair smiling at me while I work. All I have to do is press SAVE!!! cool.

So, here it goes. I love Tuesday nights. Nick puts Kaden to bed at 8. Goes and plays basketball till eleven, and Kylee usually takes a little nap and I get some FREE time!! :) Time to Blog, Bubble Bath and relax!!

2008. . . so far!

what to blog about this time of year???
no holidays, or birthdays, or nice weather. . .
i guess just some everyday things!

not everyday is just a everyday, with two kiddies i guess.
Monday night was Karaoke night at the Summerhays house!! thanks guys! what a blast. My Mom would have been proud. I was proud actually, of Nick. He has a voice! never heard it in 5 years, it was awesome. Fun times!!!

Tuesday started out with Kaden getting a deep slash on his cheek. ran into a shelf at a store, with Daddy. (3 year olds) He looks cute and he is very tough. thought I would explain that since its in all the pictures!

Lets see, I got to go be the "teacher helper in Preschool yesterday! what fun!! those adorable little kids, I got to play with them for 3 hours! he has a great class and a great teacher! and a new best buddie, Owen! too bad I didnt have my camera there. next time for sure!
Thanks to Heather for babysitting Kylee. your the greatest!!

Then in the evening was the pinewood Derby!!

After decorating about 50 cupcakes with oreo tires on top, we got to see the BIG race!! it was big too, over 1 1/2 hours! You can see by Kadens face he had a blast. Cant get better than a whole bunch of "fast cars!!"

Kylee is 4 months today. Getting cuter, more alert and fun. Cant stop smiling.

1 PM wake up, eat smile some more. play and giggle. nap.
ditto ditto. ditto!!!
smile some more. sleep all evening. wake up smile. then keep me up ALL NIGHT LONG!!

Christmas!!

What an eventful week! We headed up North last week to get in a little "holiday mood" with the snow and all. Lets just say it took us about an hour to get from Provo to Lehi! Crazy, we all thought we were gonna die! but we made it safe and had a great weekend full of Holiday Parties!

Kylee is my little grinner. Always smiling and happy, even though she has had a bad cold now for weeks straight.

Kaden has been begging to play in the snow, so he took full advantage of that and got Grandpa to help him make a big snowman for his first time! (i know snow deprived child) you can see that made his day, as well as throwing snow balls at everyone!



WE made it back home Sunday night really late to get ready for Christmas. Kaden was sick of hearing about Santa coming all month and it didnt seem to be happening, but finally, the morning came and the first thing out of his mouth was.... those are all for me??? I think he was overwhelmed! Thanks to my family for celebrating with us and spoiling the heck outta him too, as well as Santa, he is set for a while!! and, is asking every night if Santa is coming tonight!! wow, how do you explain another year to a 3 year old???

My baby started school!! (well my big 3 year old!) He had his first day of preschool today, and LOVED it! As you can see hes all excited with his backpack on, and a big grin. He walked right in and made friends, who also begged to be in the picture! (girlfriends of course!) I just cant believe how fast they grow! I asked Nick last night, how I could slow time down and enjoy every moment of my kids more, I guess there is no way!! dang it!


Kylee is growing fast, smiling now, and making everyday more and more fun! (and her eyelashes just keep growing yeah!!

Thank you Jenna, I stole these pictures off of her blog because believe it or not, the most horrible thing happened on the most important day. I forgot my CAMERA!!! AHH! Talk about upset and what a complete idiot I am. I never forget the camera EVER! so, thanks to Jenna and a whole lot of other people, I will probably get a whole lot of pictures given to me, thank goodness. And, my mom who is PICTURE HAPPY also, forgot hers too. so, oh well.
The Blessing went great. Nick did a fabulous job, it was so sweet and we had more than 50 people there. It was such a sweet day. Kylee and her cousin both looked beautiful. Thanks to my mom for sewing her perfect dress. I will post more pictures when I get some sent to me hopefully soon!!

fun friends, and fun cousins!! What a fun weekend!

Okay, so we went out with Sarah, who has been my one of my dearest friends for about 7 years now, and her new fiance!! how excited are we for them!! we had the best time talking about dating, and marriage and kids! they are in for a treat! We had to prove that we were still romantic as them after 5 years, so we thats why the kissing pictures!! (good job sarah, we sooo approve and are soo excited for you!!)

We also got Nicks little brother (who is not littler, is that a word?) to stay with us a night while passing through town. Kaden loves his big cousin Katie and they had so much fun and are very silly together as you can see! Wish you guys lived closer to us!!


We will see a lot of you this weekend, we head up North tomorrow. Kylee is going to be blessed on Friday for anyone who would like to come. Happy Thanksgiving to EVERYONE!!

Yeah, Christmas is coming!!

We went and saw the trees tonight! so much fun with a 3 year old, who finally knows whats coming and asks for EVERYTHING!! thank goodness we can tell them the "elf" thing to make them be good!! Kaden has never been afraid of Santa, so he always jumps right on his lap.
Nicks mom came to visit today, so she got to go with us, which was fun. The trees were awesome, and Lyndi's especially :)
Everyone go see the cute 101 Dalmations one!! It wins my vote for sure!!

Halloween Pics

Our Halloween was great. We had a couple friends over to celebrate (our own little party), Kaden had a fun time trick or treating with one of his best buddies Cole. Monday night we had a fun neighborhood party, Kaden had a great time getting lots of candy with his favorite babysitter taking him around. I posted pictures of that on my new attachment under the links of "extra pics for Grandma" I had to create a seperate page, because my mom wants so many pictures it would take over my blog.
So all the Grandma's, even more pictures for you!! Helps with being so far away huh??

Today Cody showed up with a fun blanket for Kaden, of course, Lightning McQueen, cant go wrong there. He loves it as you can tell in the pictures.
Kylee is now fitting in some of her 3 month jammies, which I just barely pulled out yesterday, so glad I did because she fits in them perfect. Thought she looked pretty cute tonight.

What to blog about? Kids, kids, kids??

Well, dont you just love the moments when your kids are being so silly, but cute you just have to grab the camera and take a thousand pictures? I couldn't stop. I just love digital cameras. who said Newborns are funner to take pictures of? I find my 3 year old the cutest thing in the world! (click on picture to enlarge:)



Kylee is getting big, already over 8 pounds, and soooo much more alert, but fun. She is kinda a fussy baby, and definetly a mama girl. Hopefully she'll stay that way forever, I mean even in 15 years??? :)
Sweet Gayle came to stay with us all weekend from Fresno and we had a blast. We got some fun pictures and some fun video taken! Thanks for everything Gayle!! Miss you already!

This picture was a priceless one, for those who know, Daddy doesnt get hugs from Kaden like this everyday, being a major mama boy. But it was soooo cute!

Little Cowboy!

Kadens new toy, and how cute he was!! He got some play guns and cowboy hat from my moms sweet friends next door, the Hendersons.

We went up North to visit my Mom and see how she was doing. She is hanging in there, getting sick of being stuck to the house and lot of being in bed. But we still had a great time. Kaden played guns with Grandpa and went to the Pumpkin Patch with him!
